This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) sets forth how we handle personal information and similar information in Blitzmemo (the “Software”), which is open-source voice input software released under the MIT License, and related web pages.
Article 1 (Scope)
This Policy applies to information obtained or handled when using the Software and its distribution/information pages.
Article 2 (Information handled)
The developer does not intend to collect or store users’ personal information.
However, in connection with use of the Software, the following information may be processed on the user’s device or sent to third-party services.
- Audio and text input by the user (for speech recognition, translation, etc.)
- Settings necessary for operation (e.g., language settings, OpenAI API key) and usage history (may be stored on the device)
- Information provided by the user when contacting us (name, email address, inquiry details, etc.)
- Access logs associated with viewing the web pages (may be recorded by the hosting provider)
Article 3 (Purposes of use)
The information described in the preceding article is handled for the following purposes.
- Providing the Software and enabling its features (speech recognition, translation, etc.)
- Responding to and communicating about inquiries
- Preventing unauthorized use and ensuring security
Article 4 (Provision to third parties)
Except as required by law or with the user’s consent, the developer does not provide personal information obtained by the developer to third parties.
However, to the extent necessary to provide the Software’s features and operate the website, user input data and access information may be sent to third-party services.
Article 5 (Use of third-party services)
To provide features such as speech recognition (transcription) and translation, the Software uses third-party services such as the OpenAI API. Therefore, the audio and text you input is sent to OpenAI.
The developer does not collect or use your input data. How data sent to OpenAI for speech recognition/translation is handled (including whether it is used for AI model training) follows OpenAI’s privacy policy. As of the time of writing, OpenAI states that data sent via the API is not used for training.
Article 7 (Retention period)
Information obtained by the developer in connection with inquiries will be retained for as long as necessary to respond, and then deleted appropriately.
Information stored on the user’s device may be deletable by the user.
For retention periods of information sent to third-party services, please refer to each provider’s policies.
Article 8 (Security)
The developer will endeavor to take reasonable security measures to prevent leakage, alteration, loss, etc. of information obtained.
Article 9 (Children)
If you are under 13, please use the Software with the consent of a parent or guardian.
Article 10 (Changes to this Policy)
The developer may change this Policy as necessary. If there are material changes, we will notify you via posting on the website or similar means.
